Our approach
Bridge 2 Vienna is built on the idea that children learn best when they feel safe, engaged, and free to explore. We combine language immersion, movement, nature experiences, and personal development into a playful and meaningful camp experience.
A core focus of our camp is contact with Austrian culture and the German language. German is the camp language: communication with counselors, daily activities, guided tours, and shared experiences all take place in German. Without creating a school-like atmosphere, children naturally improve their language skills through authentic, everyday use. Learning happens incidentally—through play, social interaction, and real-life situations—an approach supported by research on immersive and experiential language learning.
The second major pillar of the camp is sport and physical activity. Through a wide range of movement-based activities and sports, children experience joy in being active while developing important life skills such as team spirit, cooperation, perseverance, and confidence through achievable challenges. Physical activity is not performance-oriented, but focused on positive experiences, inclusion, and fun—creating a lively and memorable summer week.

An important developmental aspect of our camp is the experience of spending a week away from home in another country, within a well-structured and secure environment. This experience strengthens self-confidence, independence, and self-efficacy, as children learn that they can manage new situations, build routines, and overcome small challenges on their own.
Child protection and children’s rights are a fundamental priority in our camp. We ensure this through careful staff selection, ongoing sensitization and training, and a clear pedagogical stance rooted in respect and responsibility. A standardized safeguarding and emergency concept defines appropriate actions in situations involving risks or critical incidents. In addition, transparent feedback mechanisms allow children and parents to voice concerns, ensuring accountability and continuous quality development.

FAQs
Who can join the summer camp?
The camp is open to German-speaking students aged 9–13 who attend German schools or German-language international schools in Egypt. The program is designed for children who feel comfortable communicating in German, as all activities, supervision, and educational elements are conducted in German. Our goal is to bring together motivated young participants from similar school environments to create a shared, engaging, and supportive group experience.
How is safety ensured?
The safety and well-being of all participants is our highest priority. We provide fully supervised travel from departure to return, including continuous guidance throughout the entire stay in Vienna. The camp follows a clearly structured daily schedule with consistent activity supervision and regular check-ins. All participants are accompanied by experienced educators who are trained in emergency procedures and certified in first aid. In addition, all travel logistics are professionally coordinated to ensure smooth and secure arrangements at every stage of the journey. Parents will receive regular updates throughout the camp and will be able to reach the supervisors directly during the program in case of questions or urgent matters.
What activities are offered?
